The pension and social security authorities of GCC countries have launched a joint awareness campaign titled “Insurance Protection... Under a GCC Umbrella”. The campaign reflects stronger regional cooperation and aims to improve understanding of pension rights across member states.
This initiative focuses on GCC nationals who work outside their home country but within the Gulf region. It helps them understand their pension rights and how to benefit from the Unified Extension Protection System (UEPS), which supports continued social security coverage across GCC countries.
The campaign has been launched simultaneously in all GCC member states as part of efforts to strengthen integration and support workforce mobility. It ensures that employees can maintain continuity in their pension contributions and benefits while working in different GCC countries.
The Unified System acts as a safety net for workers by protecting their years of service and contributions. This helps secure long-term financial stability and social protection for employees across the region.
Through this campaign, GCC pension authorities aim to raise awareness about key areas including insurance benefits for workers and their families, legal responsibilities of employers and employees, and rules related to pension contribution payments.
The campaign targets government and private sector employers, GCC nationals working across the region, and media organizations to ensure wide awareness and participation.
To spread the message effectively, the initiative will use digital platforms, traditional media, and official social media channels of pension authorities. It will also include interactive workshops to engage the public.
All official communication channels will support public inquiries, helping ensure better understanding of the system and promoting the goals of this unified GCC initiative.
