Gold Prices Recover From Two-Month Low

Gold Prices Recover From Two-Month Low

Post by : Shweta

Gold Prices Recover

Gold prices edged higher on October 8, 2026, after falling to a two-month low in the previous trading session. Investors remained focused on the outlook for US interest rates and the latest signals from the Federal Reserve.

Spot Gold Moves Higher

Spot gold rose 0.4 percent to around $4,127.40 per ounce. The metal had touched its lowest level since August 5 during the previous session as a stronger US dollar and higher US Treasury yields put pressure on gold prices.

Gold Futures Also Gain

US gold futures for December delivery increased 0.3 percent to around $4,150.60 per ounce. The modest recovery came as traders assessed whether recent pressure on gold could continue or whether the metal could regain some ground.

Federal Reserve Policy in Focus

Recent Federal Reserve meeting minutes showed that policymakers had different views about the reasons for raising interest rates. Some officials considered higher rates necessary to limit the impact of energy price shocks and other economic pressures.

Inflation Concerns Remain

A more hawkish group of policymakers viewed the rate increase as necessary to guard against emerging inflation driven by stronger demand. These differences remain important for financial markets because interest rate expectations can influence the US dollar, bond yields and gold prices.

Other Precious Metals Rise

Other major precious metals also recorded gains. Spot silver increased 0.4 percent to around $60.39 per ounce, while platinum gained 1.4 percent to about $1,653.88. Palladium also rose 1.4 percent to approximately $1,141.

Gold Market Outlook

Gold prices are likely to remain sensitive to Federal Reserve policy expectations, movements in the US dollar and Treasury yields. Investors are watching upcoming economic data and central bank signals for clearer direction on interest rates and the precious metals market.
