Tragic High-Speed Train Collision in Spain Claims 21 Lives

However, the Renfe train experienced significant damage, complicating rescue efforts due to the tight packing of its carriages. The reasons behind the crash remain unclear. Spain's transport minister, Oscar Puente, noted the rarity of derailments on straight tracks and mentioned that the railway had undergone renovations just months prior.
