In a related update, the Director of Shipping from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Opesh Kumar Sharma, has confirmed that all Indian seafarers in the vicinity are secure and that no incidents were reported between May 4 and May 6.
He added that the government has successfully facilitated the transit of over 2,999 Indian seafarers from various Gulf locations, including 23 in the past 48 hours.
