Abu Dhabi Set to Host 4th International Autism Conference

Under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi is preparing to host the 4th International Autism Conference from April 25 to 28, 2026, at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.

Organized by the Zayed Authority in collaboration with Lotus Holistic Group, ADNOC, and Skills4Mind, the conference operates in strategic partnership with essential government entities, including the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

A Platform for Global Autism Awareness

Continuing the momentum from past editions, the upcoming conference builds on the previous success of the last session, which attracted over 2,000 participants from 15 nations in 2025, solidifying its status as a notable global platform for autism.

Of the participants, 1,360 hailed from the UAE while over 400 represented international delegates, showcasing the event’s growing global outreach in the fields of science and healthcare.

For 2026, organizers anticipate that participation will surpass 3,000 attendees from more than 25 countries, marking a significant advancement in international collaboration.

Exploring AI, Inclusion, and Innovation

The fourth edition will concentrate on boosting autism care through innovative collaboration. Key focal areas include:

  • Artificial intelligence and innovation

  • Scientific research

  • Social inclusion

  • Inclusive workplaces

  • Excellence in healthcare

  • Inclusive education

The program will include a scientific conference, specialized workshops, an AI training bootcamp, and an innovation exhibition displaying the latest technological advancements.

AI's Role in Autism Support

Dr. Taha Reda, Founder of Skills4Mind and Head of the AI and Innovation track, emphasized the advancing role of AI in aiding individuals with autism.

He remarked that AI technologies can facilitate early diagnosis, tailored learning, enhanced communication, and emotional support, thus helping individuals with autism achieve greater independence and social inclusion. Furthermore, he highlighted the need for ethical governance and transparency while implementing such technologies.

Focusing on Families and Their Social Impact

Aligning with the UAE’s Year of Family, the conference underscores the crucial role families play in rehabilitation and empowerment.

Abdullah Abdul Aali Al Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority, stated that the event aims to convert knowledge into actionable solutions that enhance the quality of life.

“We are expanding AI applications, strengthening partnerships, and focusing on sustainable impact through integrated services and family empowerment,” he noted.

Promoting Awareness Through Community Engagement

Amina Al Hidan, CEO of the International Autism Conference and Lotus Holistic Group, shared that the event builds on a solid scientific and societal foundation.

She praised the success of the 2025 awareness campaign and announced Jumana Murad as the Autism Ambassador for 2026, recognizing her commitment to raising awareness and depicting the realities faced by families with autism.

Strong Professional Participation Evident

The previous edition highlighted diverse participation across sectors, including:

  • Over 480 education specialists

  • More than 400 healthcare professionals

  • Over 380 therapists

As for representation:

  • 78% were service providers

  • 12% represented family and community organizations

  • 10% were leaders and policymakers

This emphasizes a well-integrated ecosystem conducive to supporting individuals with autism.

The 2026 conference is set to deliver impactful initiatives, advanced training, and expanded innovation showcases, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a vital hub for autism research, support, and inclusion.
