Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon’s Baalbek Kill 16, 35 Injured

Post by : Bianca Haleem

At least 16 people were killed and 35 others injured after Israeli airstrikes targeted the town of Nabi Chit in Lebanon’s Baalbek district, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health.

The ministry’s Emergency Health Operations Centre said the death toll remains preliminary and could rise as rescue and assessment operations continue.

The airstrikes hit several areas in Nabi Chit, causing casualties and significant damage. Emergency teams were deployed to the area to provide medical assistance and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.

In a separate incident, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that three people were injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a building in the village of Burj Rahhal in the Tyre district in southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Emergency Health Operations Centre also said that the total number of casualties from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since dawn last Monday has increased significantly. According to the latest figures, at least 217 people have been killed and 798 others injured across the country during the ongoing escalation.

Authorities said the numbers are based on initial reports and may change as more information becomes available. Emergency and rescue teams continue their operations in affected areas.
