Russian Drone Strike Kills 4 Including 3 Children in Kharkiv

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A Russian drone strike killed four people, including three small children and their father, in the town of Bohodukhiv, west of Kharkiv, Ukrainian officials said.

The strike happened late Tuesday, hitting a residential building where a family of five lived. The house was completely destroyed and caught fire, trapping the family under the rubble. Ukrainian authorities said the mother, who is pregnant, was rescued.

The victims included two boys aged 1 and 4, a 2-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old man. The family had recently evacuated from a nearby village.

Ukraine’s air force reported that Russia launched 129 drones overnight, of which 112 were shot down or neutralised. Kharkiv and surrounding areas, located about 30 km from Ukraine’s northeastern border, have faced repeated Russian air attacks since the full-scale invasion in February 2022.

There was no immediate comment from Russia. Both Moscow and Kyiv deny targeting civilians in the ongoing conflict.
