Kohli's Fitness Woes Raise Alarm for RCB Fans

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A trending training video featuring Virat Kohli has created new jitters among Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters, as the prominent batsman seemed to exhibit signs of struggle in a practice session.

Captured at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the video shows Kohli undertaking gentle running drills. However, his apparent lack of mobility suggests he could still be experiencing discomfort.

Knee Support Raises Doubts Amid Prior Ankle Injury

Compounding concerns, Kohli was noted wearing a knee brace during this training session. This has left fans puzzled since he had previously encountered an ankle issue in RCB’s last game. The evident support and his restrained exercises imply a cautious recovery strategy from the team management.

Initial Injury Encounter vs. Mumbai Indians

The alarm over his fitness began during RCB’s match against the Mumbai Indians. Kohli felt discomfort just after five balls into the 10th over and required immediate treatment on the field, subsequently exiting and not returning for the rest of the match.

Although RCB managed to pull through for a win, Kohli’s early departure has cast shadows on his fitness for upcoming clashes.

No Official Word from RCB Regarding Injury

Currently, RCB has not provided any formal updates regarding Kohli's injury status or expected recovery time. His availability for the imminent match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is still in limbo.

Return Contingent on Medical Clearance

Kohli’s participation in the next match is likely contingent upon last-minute fitness evaluations and medical approvals. Given his pivotal role in RCB's batting lineup, the team will be eager to ensure he only returns when fully recovered.

Essential Player for RCB's Season Goals

Kohli has displayed commendable form in the current IPL 2026 season, consistently serving as the cornerstone of their batting order. His presence is critical for RCB, especially in tense match situations.

For the moment, fans will have to hold tight for formal confirmation as developments unfold prior to RCB’s next encounter.
