Kuwait Arrests Two Minors Over Alleged ISIS-Linked Plot

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday that the State Security Service arrested two minors over an alleged plot to target a place of worship in the country.

According to the ministry, the two suspects were accused of communicating with members of ISIS and receiving training in the manufacture of explosives.

Arrests Follow Security Investigations

The ministry said the arrests were made after security authorities carried out monitoring, gathered intelligence and conducted investigations into the alleged activities.

Following their arrest, the two minors were referred to the competent judicial authorities. The ministry said legal proceedings will continue in accordance with Kuwaiti law.

Kuwait Ministry Warns Against Extremist Activities

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that it remains committed to monitoring and addressing activities that could threaten Kuwait’s security and public safety.

It also stressed that any violations of the law would be handled through the appropriate legal procedures.

Ministry Urges Parents to Monitor Children

The ministry called on parents to pay close attention to their children’s use of social media and help them understand the risks associated with extremist ideologies and unlawful behaviour.

It further urged families to strengthen guidance at home by promoting national values, respect for the law and a sense of responsibility towards the country.
