Post by : Shakul

On April 17, 2026, Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Masato Kanda in Washington, USA. Their conversation, part of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, centered on enhancing economic partnerships and development strategies.

During their discussion, Kasymaliev pointed out Kyrgyzstan's impressive economic trajectory over recent years. He highlighted that the nation achieved an average annual GDP growth exceeding 10 percent over the past four years, capped at 11.1 percent by the close of 2025, indicating consistent economic advancement.

He also brought attention to international evaluations placing Kyrgyzstan among the top three countries worldwide in real GDP growth for 2024. This significant ranking emphasizes the success stemming from the country’s economic reform and development policies.

A major theme of their talks was Kyrgyzstan's goal to become a pivotal regional logistics and transportation hub by 2030. The government aims to bolster infrastructure and improve connectivity to secure the nation's role in regional trade networks.

Kasymaliev acknowledged the vital support from the Asian Development Bank, especially with the National Electronic Logistics Platform project. This initiative is designed to unify transport systems and enhance the digital exchange of information among logistics participants, promoting transparency and operational efficiency.

In response, Kanda commended Kyrgyzstan’s reform initiatives and economic advancements. He reiterated the Asian Development Bank's dedication to aid the nation's critical sectors, particularly in infrastructure and digital transformation.

This meeting exemplifies the strengthening ties between Kyrgyzstan and international financial institutions, focused on promoting economic growth, enhancing regional connectivity, and solidifying long-term development goals.
