Kyrgyzstan Unveils New Logistics Center in Balykchy

Post by : Shakul

In a significant move to bolster regional trade and transport, Kyrgyzstan has inaugurated the “Altyn Logistics” international logistics hub in Balykchy. Attending the launch, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, described this development as a crucial advancement for the country’s transit capabilities.

During his remarks in the Issyk-Kul region, Kasymaliev noted Kyrgyzstan’s advantageous geographical position at the intersection of vital international transport corridors, which presents a unique opportunity for the nation to evolve into a central logistics hub within Central Asia. He highlighted the center’s strategic location along the historical Great Silk Road.

The “Altyn Logistics” facility is anticipated to be a key transport nexus, connecting China, Central Asian nations, and members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Officials believe this hub will enhance regional trade, improve cargo transport efficiency, and elevate Kyrgyzstan’s status in the global logistics landscape.

Developed by Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, the logistics complex spans 5.5 hectares and is outfitted with state-of-the-art transport and storage facilities tailored for efficient cargo handling. Officials indicated that it can accommodate up to 200 trucks daily.

Economic benefits from the logistics hub are already visible, with over 80 new jobs created, presenting fresh employment chances for local residents and fostering economic development in the area.

Adylbek Kasymaliev praised Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC for its expanding role beyond mining, recognizing its investments in logistics, infrastructure, and development while maintaining robust financial health. Interestingly, Kyrgyzaltyn had contributed over 18.7 billion soms to the state budget by the end of 2025.

With the launch of the logistics center, officials assert it aligns with Kyrgyzstan’s ambition of becoming a pivotal transport and trade conduit linking Asia and regional markets. They also emphasized the importance of enhancing infrastructure and logistics capabilities to spur economic growth and attract international investments.

The Kyrgyz government is optimistic that the “Altyn Logistics” center will reinforce trade partnerships, boost transit cargo flow, and unlock new avenues for collaboration with neighboring countries in the upcoming years.
