Kyrgyzstan Celebrates 34 Years of Armed Forces

Post by : Shakul

Kyrgyzstan commemorated the 34th anniversary of its Armed Forces with a festive ceremony at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Hall in Bishkek. This significant occasion was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, key governmental figures, military leaders, veterans, and armed forces personnel. The gathering underscored the country’s unwavering dedication to fortifying its national defense and sovereignty.

In his address, Kasymaliev extended warm congratulations to military members, veterans, and their families for reaching this pivotal milestone. He articulated that the formation of the Armed Forces post-independence was a landmark development toward establishing a robust and sovereign nation capable of securing its territorial integrity and interests.

The Prime Minister commended the commitment of military veterans and past commanders who were instrumental in building and nurturing the national army. He emphasized that, despite facing various obstacles over the last three decades, the Armed Forces have upheld their traditions while progressively enhancing their operational proficiency and readiness.

A large segment of his speech concentrated on military modernization. Kasymaliev noted that substantial investments have been made in cutting-edge defense technologies in recent years, including contemporary weapons systems, military aviation, air defense tools, armored vehicles, communication networks, and logistical support systems. These advancements aim to bolster the nation's defense posture and enhance military effectiveness.

Additionally, the government has intensified efforts to uplift the living standards of military personnel. New residential units, military camps, barracks, and service facilities are currently under construction nationwide to ensure improved living and working conditions for soldiers and their families. Authorities believe these initiatives will lead to heightened morale and stable long-term development within the armed forces.

Kasymaliev also observed the increasing appeal of military careers among the youth, noting a significant rise in young citizens choosing to serve. He regarded this trend as indicative of growing patriotism and public trust in the military as a vital component of national security and progress.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to a peaceful foreign policy while ensuring robust defense capabilities. He emphasized the necessity of regional collaboration through alliances such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In concluding his remarks, Kasymaliev expressed confidence in the Armed Forces' readiness to safeguard the nation, protect its citizens, and promote regional tranquility and stability.
