In a significant step for Kyrgyzstan's tourism industry, a new leader has been announced for the State Agency for Tourism Development in Bishkek. This appointment signals a dedicated effort to enhance the country's tourism scene.

Eduard Kubatov has been named the new director, a decision confirmed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, who expressed trust in Kubatov's leadership capabilities.

During the announcement, the Prime Minister pointed out that tourism plays a crucial role in the socio-economic landscape of Kyrgyzstan. He stated that the nation possesses substantial untapped resources, affirming the government's commitment to advancing tourism initiatives.

Key statistics were revealed, noting that in 2025, exports from tourism services surpassed $1 billion, with approximately 129,000 businesses operating within the sector, indicating substantial growth.

The government has set forth several key objectives for the agency, including the refinement of tourism regulations, the enhancement of digital service delivery, and the assurance of safe travel conditions for visitors throughout the country.

Kasymaliev expressed his belief that Kubatov would be instrumental in propelling priority projects, boosting operational efficiency, and nurturing sustainable tourism practices. He emphasized the necessity of integrating modern technologies to align with global tourism standards.

The meeting concluded with the Prime Minister offering his best wishes to Kubatov, urging him to pursue objectives that would elevate Kyrgyzstan’s tourism profile both regionally and internationally.
