Sharjah, UAE: On Sunday, the 18th session of the Sharjah Children’s Shura Council and the 9th session of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council were officially inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, at the Sharjah Consultative Council headquarters. The event was themed "Serving the Community is Leadership."

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed highlighted that these councils operate based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with ongoing support from Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. He expressed admiration for Sharjah's youth and their engagement in these councils.

He pointed out that the chosen slogan signifies the essential role of responsibility and active engagement, reinforcing Sharjah's trust in its youth to tackle significant issues and provide insightful suggestions for societal and national progression.

The Deputy Ruler underlined that being a member of these councils entails genuine responsibility and serves as a valuable learning experience. He noted that the councils aid young individuals in cultivating skills such as dialogue, teamwork, respecting diverse opinions, and leadership.

With around 20,000 voters participating in the election of council members, he acknowledged the strong community backing for youth involvement in the decision-making process.

Sheikh Sultan motivated the members to share their opinions thoughtfully, engage earnestly in discussions, and propose actionable recommendations for Sharjah's future. He extended his congratulations and wished them success in their endeavors.

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem and a Quran recitation, leading to the oath-taking for 60 members of the Children’s Shura Council and 80 members of the Youth Shura Council.
