New Social Enterprise Store Launched at Trang Airport

Post by : Shakul

In an effort to bolster its grassroots economy, Thailand has unveiled the Ru Rak Samakkhi Phatthalung Social Enterprise Store at Trang Airport. This initiative seeks to broaden market access for locally crafted products, while also supporting entrepreneurs and safeguarding the region's cultural heritage.

The store's grand opening took place on June 7, 2026, officiated by Deputy Interior Minister Worasit Liengprasit, attracting provincial leaders, government representatives, social enterprise advocates, and partners from both Trang and Phatthalung.

During his opening remarks, Worasit explained that "Ru Rak Samakkhi," which means "Know, Love, and Unite," embodies the collaborative spirit of the Phatthalung community. He stressed that this project highlights exceptional local wisdom, quality OTOP (One Tambon One Product) items, handicrafts, and unique agricultural products.

This new store serves as an essential platform for local artisans, showcasing their goods at one of the busiest travel hubs in the region. This enables tourists and visitors at the airport to easily access authentic community creations, local delicacies, handicrafts, and souvenirs that showcase Phatthalung's rich cultural tapestry.

Officials noted that this endeavor is in harmony with the government's strategies to create sustainable job opportunities, stimulate income growth, and empower local economies. By diversifying sales avenues beyond conventional markets, local entrepreneurs can tap into a wider customer demographic, facilitating business expansions.

Dr. Natee Ratchakitprakarn, head of Pracharath Phatthalung Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., emphasized that the venture follows a collaborative development model, fosters partnerships among government bodies, private enterprises, and local communities. The aim is to yield sustained economic and social impacts for residents.

The opening of the Ru Rak Samakkhi Phatthalung Store is anticipated to enhance tourism expenditure, elevate local brand visibility, and serve as a blueprint for community-led economic growth. Authorities believe this project will evolve into a sustainable marketing platform that helps maintain local customs while boosting livelihoods across Phatthalung Province.
