Madinah Temporarily Halts Bus Operations for Hajj

Madinah Temporarily Halts Bus Operations for Hajj

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Al Madinah Region Development Authority has informed the public about the temporary halt of bus services, starting at noon on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah 1447 AH, in light of Hajj preparations.

As reported by the Saudi Press Agency, standard bus services will recommence on the second day of Eid Al Adha.

This suspension forms part of a strategic plan aimed at optimizing traffic flow, alleviating congestion, and boosting logistical operations during the busy Hajj season, which witnesses the movement of millions of pilgrims between sacred locations.

Authorities have confirmed that this measure supports crowd management initiatives, facilitating smoother transportation within Madinah throughout the pilgrimage.

While general bus routes will be suspended, dedicated shuttle services to the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque will remain operational to assist pilgrims in accessing these significant sites.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor official social media channels and transport updates for the most current information pertaining to service changes and schedules during Hajj.
