UAE, Syria Leaders Discuss Ties, Regional Security Issues

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

During the call, both leaders reviewed the strong ties between the UAE and Syria and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors. They emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships in a manner that supports mutual interests and delivers tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

President Ahmed Al Sharaa reaffirmed the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing collaboration and stability.

The discussion also covered recent regional developments and their serious implications for security and stability. Both sides expressed concern over ongoing Iranian actions targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure.

The leaders noted that such actions represent a violation of national sovereignty, international law, and the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter. They stressed the need for collective efforts to maintain peace, security, and stability across the region.
