Musandam Council Evaluates Key Infrastructure and Tourism Projects

Musandam Council Evaluates Key Infrastructure and Tourism Projects

Post by : Shakul

In its sixth meeting of 2026, the Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate convened in Khasab, headed by His Excellency Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, to discuss significant development initiatives aimed at boosting tourism, infrastructure, and public services within the region.

The council addressed several issues raised previously and went over new proposals designed to foster economic expansion and elevate living standards. A primary focus was the redevelopment of the historic Al Hala Market in Khasab, which seeks to honor local heritage while generating fresh commercial ventures.

Concerns regarding the supply and pricing of animal feed were also deliberated. Council members explored potential strategies to enhance supply chains, facilitating better access to affordable resources for livestock owners, thereby supporting Musandam's agricultural sector.

Infrastructure development was another crucial component of the agenda, with discussions centered on transforming Bukha into a more cohesive urban hub. Plans for improving the farms area in Madha were also reviewed, aimed at bolstering agricultural productivity and attracting further investments.

Additionally, the proposal for a dual carriageway linking Qurun Al-Sayd to Khub Al-Shamsi in Dibba was critically examined. This road expansion is set to boost transportation efficiency, cut travel times, and enhance safety on one of the region's vital routes.

Tourism enhancement took center stage as members considered a request to refurbish the beach umbrellas at Qadi Beach. This initiative will not only uplift the visual appeal of the beach but also improve amenities for both visitors and local inhabitants.

The assembly concluded with discussions on social and environmental challenges impacting the governorate, particularly the surge of trucks in Khasab. Council members highlighted the urgency of applying practical solutions and monitoring recommendations to foster sustainable development and advance public services within Musandam Governorate.
