Najib Razak and Dzulkefly Ahmad Reach Settlement in Defamation Lawsuit

Post by : Shakul

The defamation dispute between Najib Razak and Dzulkefly Ahmad has reached a resolution at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur. Initiated in 2022, the case revolved around accusations of nepotism regarding the appointment of Dzulkefly’s daughter within government-affiliated roles.

During the proceedings, Najib delivered a statement clarifying that his previous comments on social media were not aimed at maligning Dzulkefly. He confirmed that the Health Minister did not play a role in his daughter’s placements and rejected any allegations of corruption or nepotism against him.

Najib further explained that his post was intended as political commentary on larger governance matters rather than a direct affront to Dzulkefly. He expressed regret for any distress experienced by Dzulkefly and his family, reaffirming that had never been his goal.

After Najib's clarification, Dzulkefly’s legal representatives announced the decision to cease further actions, bringing the case to an end. The court welcomed this amicable resolution, underscoring the significance of resolving conflicts efficiently and preserving judicial resources.
