New Residential Development Announced in Al Ashkel, Sharjah

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a recent announcement, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, revealed plans for a new residential area named Al Ashkel Neighbourhood, located near the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled.

During a phone interview on the program Direct Line, His Highness indicated that the development will encompass hundreds of homes specifically designed for UAE citizens.

He assured that the roads in this new area will be entirely paved and seamlessly connected to Al Rafisah. The mountain residences will feature distinctive designs that set them apart from the coastal homes.

Addressing concerns from Khorfakkan residents about an alleged shortage of residential plots, the Ruler emphasized that land availability remains sufficient, particularly following reports of land exhaustion in Al Harray.

Currently, 270 homes are under construction, divided into two phases, including 120 homes in Al Mudeife, where land plots have already been allocated to the Department of Housing.

Additionally, His Highness announced that plots in Al Harray that were previously designated for commercial license holders have now been reassigned to the municipality, with construction on these plots anticipated to take around two years.

Moreover, there are ongoing housing projects in Kalba along the ring road, starting from Al Ghayl, and then proceeding to Al Saaf and Al Tareef. Construction in the Al Dahiyat residential neighborhood has already commenced, adhering to the same regulations.
