Nita Ambani Dazzles in Exquisite Jamdani Saree at TIME 100 Summit

Post by : Bianca Haleem

At the TIME 100 Summit held in New York, Nita Ambani engaged in a Leadership Lens session, sharing her insights alongside Jessica Sibley. She articulated a compelling message, emphasizing that now is India's moment, as the world increasingly relies on the soft power that India embodies.

For this notable occasion, Nita Ambani donned a distinctive Jamdani saree from West Bengal, which brilliantly highlighted India’s time-honored textile legacy. This exquisite piece was meticulously handcrafted over two years by the esteemed Padma Shri awardee, Biren Kumar Basak, based in Phulia, West Bengal.

The six-yard creation featured a gentle cream backdrop adorned with vibrant motifs and intricate meenakari detailing. It artfully blended tribal inspiration, narrative designs, and traditional artisan skills. The pallu showcased elaborate scenes depicting human figures, animals, and nature, while the borders were embellished with fish motifs symbolizing abundance and good fortune.

This saree is part of Swadesh's mission, which is dedicated to uplifting traditional Indian crafts while collaborating with skilled artisans.

Nita Ambani complemented her saree with stunning jewelry, including a triple-strand pearl necklace, emerald and diamond earrings, a striking emerald ring, and coordinating bangles. Her overall appearance was finished off with tasteful makeup, characterized by a green bindi, kohl-accentuated eyes, and soft pink lips.

As the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation and founder of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Nita Ambani also serves on the board of Reliance Industries. She is married to Mukesh Ambani, and they have three children—Akash, Isha, and Anant Ambani.
