The Sultanate of Oman has showcased remarkable performance in the 2025 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) by the World Bank, underscoring the nation’s rapid advancements in logistics efficiency, trade facilitation, and transportation linkages.

Oman is now recognized among the top-ranking countries globally in various logistics metrics, solidifying its significance as a pivotal trade hub both regionally and internationally within the Gulf.

The index highlights Oman’s outstanding achievement, ranking first worldwide in the “Starting an Export Supply Chain” category, with an exemplary processing time of merely 0.8 days—indicative of highly effective port operations and efficient export methods.

Additionally, the nation secured the ninth position globally in the “Import Supply Chain Completion” category, which measures the swift movement of imported goods from entry points to consumers.

Regionally, Oman holds the second spot in the Gulf for export container dwell time efficiency and ranks third for direct shipping connectivity, illustrating robust maritime integration with worldwide trade channels.

Oman also featured 25th globally in the “Shipping Alliances” index and second in the Gulf, indicative of strengthened collaborations between international shipping enterprises and enhanced maritime networks.

Moreover, the country stood at 39th globally for “Direct Maritime Connection Partners,” enhancing its access to international markets through consistent shipping routes and global logistics associations.

In terms of postal and delivery services, Oman achieved the 16th position globally and the top spot in the Gulf for “Business Mail Delivery Time,” highlighting the speed and dependability of its postal services.

Officials have indicated that these accomplishments reflect the ongoing national initiatives aimed at upgrading ports, enhancing logistics infrastructure, and modernizing customs and transportation systems nationwide.

The Logistics Performance Index by the World Bank assesses countries on parameters like speed, reliability, connectivity, and operational efficiency across various transport sectors, using real shipment data for precise evaluation.

Oman’s stellar performance in the 2025 index further cements its status as a premier global logistics hub, facilitating economic diversification, fostering foreign investment, and bolstering international trade.
