Oman Unveils RO12 Million Investment in Tourism Projects

Post by : Shakul

Oman is advancing its tourism ambitions with the signing of two key usufruct agreements for hospitality developments amounting to over 12 million Omani riyals. These ventures include a four-star resort in Al Hamra, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and a five-star hotel in Mirbat, Dhofar Governorate, aiming to bolster the nation's tourism framework and assist in economic diversification efforts.

The contracts were formalized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, reflecting the government’s long-term vision to attract private investment and broaden tourism options throughout the Sultanate. Authorities anticipate that these projects will generate new job openings, bolster local economies, and enhance accommodation availability for both domestic and international tourists.

As per the Ministry, these investments resonate with national strategies to diversify revenue streams beyond the conventional sectors. The tourism industry stands as a cornerstone of Oman’s economic development framework, with a focus on nurturing sites that merge cultural heritage, natural allure, and cutting-edge hospitality offerings.

The larger initiative is the construction of a four-star resort in Al Hamra, facilitated by Al Zahra Hospitality Services Company. This resort will cover a 25,000-square-meter area, boasting an investment of approximately RO 9.87 million. Designed as a comprehensive tourism spot, it will integrate adventure tourism, relaxation zones, and sustainable environmental practices.

Nestled amid some of Oman’s most picturesque mountain vistas, this resort anticipates attracting visitors interested in outdoor pursuits, nature immersion, and cultural interactions. Officials emphasize that the venture will highlight Al Hamra’s natural tourism assets, including mountain routes, lush valleys, and heritage sites.

The second development is a five-star hotel being constructed in Mirbat by Zillal Tourism Company. This project will occupy a 55,000-square-meter area, with an estimated investment of around RO 3 million, featuring 121 guest rooms, dining outlets, conference facilities, sports amenities, swimming pools, and various leisure options designed for both business and recreational guests.

Tourism representatives pointed out Mirbat’s rising allure as a key location in Dhofar Governorate, famed for its coastal beauty, historical landmarks, and seasonal tourist interest. The new luxury hotel is poised to enhance the area’s hospitality capacity and support continuous visitor engagement throughout the year.

Industry analysts express confidence that these initiatives will play a critical role in Oman’s tourism expansion strategy while generating opportunities for local enterprises and communities. By pairing premium accommodations with distinctive natural and cultural experiences, Oman is establishing itself as a formidable competitor in the regional tourism landscape.
