Osh Visit Highlights Key Social Initiatives by Kyrgyz Deputy PM

Post by : Shakul

During a significant working visit to Osh, Ulan Mamatkanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing healthcare, education, and social welfare services. This visit was part of the “Open Cabinet: Area of Responsibility” initiative, which allows journalists to observe government operations and development efforts firsthand.

Accompanied by media personnel, Mamatkanov toured several essential social and infrastructure projects throughout the Osh region. This initiative is geared towards increasing governmental transparency and providing citizens with insights into the effective management of local programs.

His first meeting focused on the “Bala Irysy” social benefit initiative, concentrating on coordination among government bodies and ensuring timely assistance to eligible families. Mamatkanov urged authorities to prioritize the efficient distribution of benefits to those in need.

Coinciding with International Children’s Day celebrations, Mamatkanov highlighted the crucial role of investing in youth at a special gathering held at T. Satylganov Recreation Park. He stated that over 2.7 million children reside in Kyrgyzstan and emphasized the national priority of nurturing their education and welfare.

Education infrastructure received special attention during the visit, with Mamatkanov inspecting the development of Secondary School No. 2, named after S. Zhigitov, designated for 1,200 students. Launched by President Sadyr Japarov, this project aims to significantly enhance educational opportunities in the area, with a strong emphasis on quality and timely completion.

The Deputy Chairman also assessed healthcare advancements at the Osh City Clinical Hospital, reviewing patient and staff facilities while evaluating the progress of a new 300-bed hospital under construction. Discussions were held on enhancing healthcare access, expanding medical facilities, and ensuring ongoing projects comply with set standards and deadlines.

Mamatkanov concluded the visit by engaging with a local entrepreneur who benefited from financial aid through the social contract program. He also visited the Osh City Department of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, where officials showcased how targeted support programs reach the community. This visit emphasized the Kyrgyz government’s integrated approach to social assistance, entrepreneurship, healthcare improvements, and educational investment aimed at bettering life across the nation.
