His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and the President of the University of Kalba, observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NAMA Women Advancement on Monday at the university’s headquarters.
The MoU was inked by Dr Najwa Al Hosani, Chancellor of the University, and Maryam Al Hammadi, Director-General at NAMA Women Advancement.
This agreement aims to establish a solid framework for collaboration in crucial sectors such as research, training, and media communication. The focus lies on fostering knowledge sharing and accomplishing mutual objectives, particularly in enhancing women's empowerment.
Regarding research, the institutions will collaborate to circulate and publish scientific research. They will engage in surveys pertinent to women, aid access to essential community groups, and ensure ethical approvals for research topics. Furthermore, the university will assess research papers and reports submitted by NAMA for both local and international forums.
For training and professional development, the partnership includes crafting training materials, providing skilled trainers, and certifying specific programs from NAMA. This also encourages the organisation of training sessions for female students, sharing training agendas, executing field visits, and exchanging expertise between both parties. Additionally, faculty members from the university will lend their knowledge to enrich training initiatives.
In terms of media, the MoU will facilitate the promotion of NAMA’s initiatives among students, faculty, and alumni. Both entities will exchange media materials across their platforms and leverage existing resources to coordinate events, activities, and various programs.
This collaboration embodies a collective commitment to fostering women's development via education, research, and professional training opportunities.
