Qatar, Kuwait Discuss Regional Security and De-escalation

Qatar and Kuwait have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions across the region.

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, held a phone call with His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait.

During the call, the two officials reviewed Qatar-Kuwait bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, with particular focus on diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and strengthen security and stability.

Qatar Stresses Importance of Dialogue and Diplomacy

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman stressed the importance of all parties continuing to follow dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred way to address regional challenges.

He also underlined the need to implement the commitments outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. This includes maintaining freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, protecting regional security and safeguarding the gains achieved through diplomatic efforts.

Qatar also highlighted the importance of continued regional coordination to prevent further escalation and create conditions for greater stability.

Qatar Reaffirms Support for De-escalation

During the phone call, Qatar renewed its full support for international and regional efforts focused on de-escalation and sustainable peace.

The Qatari side said that continued diplomatic engagement and coordination among regional and international partners are essential to reducing tensions and strengthening long-term security.

Qatar also expressed its support for efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement that can contribute to sustainable peace and greater stability across the region.

Qatar-Kuwait Cooperation

The discussion reflects the ongoing coordination between Qatar and Kuwait on regional issues. Both countries continue to emphasize diplomacy, dialogue and cooperation as key tools for addressing regional tensions and promoting security.

The latest talks come amid heightened regional concerns, making diplomatic coordination and efforts to preserve freedom of navigation and regional stability increasingly important.
