Qatar Condemns Houthi Missile Attacks
Qatar has condemned ballistic missile attacks launched by Yemen’s Houthi group toward the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and international law and called for an immediate halt to such actions. Doha also reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures taken to protect the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
GCC Reaffirms Support for Saudi Arabia
The Gulf Cooperation Council also condemned the missile launches. GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said the continued targeting of Saudi territory and civilian lives represented a dangerous course of escalation. The GCC reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia and for measures aimed at protecting its sovereignty, security, stability, citizens and residents.

Muslim World League Issues Condemnation
The Muslim World League, through Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, also condemned the attacks. The organization said six ballistic missiles had been used in the attempted targeting of Taif and Yanbu and said Saudi air defenses successfully thwarted the attacks.
Regional Security Concerns
The latest incident comes amid a wider escalation involving Houthi attacks and Saudi Arabia. Earlier in September, Saudi authorities reported intercepting missile and drone threats involving Riyadh and other locations, while international reports have highlighted concerns over the potential impact of the wider escalation on regional security and vital infrastructure.

The statements from Qatar, the GCC and the Muslim World League underline the broader regional concern surrounding attacks on Saudi territory. Qatar specifically said Saudi Arabia’s security is closely connected with Qatar’s security and the collective security of GCC states.
