Post by : Shakul

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has inaugurated a new interactive and supportive learning space at Al Hidaya School for Special Needs Primary School Boys and Girls in Doha. The initiative is designed to enhance educational opportunities for students with disabilities through advanced learning technologies and specialized educational environments.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, along with several assistant undersecretaries and senior ministry officials. The project reflects Qatar’s commitment to developing modern educational facilities that cater to the diverse needs of all students.

Enhancing Inclusive Education

According to the ministry, the project forms part of broader efforts to improve educational services for students with disabilities and create comprehensive learning environments that help them develop their abilities and actively participate in education.

The Department of Special Education and Inclusive Education supervised the design and implementation of the project. The facilities have been developed to meet sensory and developmental requirements while allowing students to benefit from modern instructional and assistive technologies.

Immersive Reality Room Offers Real-Life Learning

One of the key features of the project is the Immersive Reality Room, which creates realistic educational experiences through interactive digital technologies. The room allows students to engage with learning content in a practical and highly interactive manner.

The innovative environment helps improve knowledge retention, communication skills and motor development by connecting educational concepts with real-life experiences. Officials believe the technology will make learning more engaging and effective for students with special educational needs.

Interactive Sensory Room Supports Development

The project also includes a fully integrated sensory room designed to support emotional regulation and sensory stimulation. The facility can be customized to meet the individual requirements of each student.

The room helps improve concentration, attention, communication and interaction with the surrounding environment. It also enhances students’ readiness to participate in educational activities and classroom learning experiences.

Advanced Technology Expands Learning Opportunities

Additional facilities include an ultraviolet illumination room that promotes visual and spatial awareness through carefully guided sensory activities. The school has also established a dedicated Assistive Technology room equipped with advanced educational tools.

Interactive floor systems, sensory tents and modern learning technologies have been introduced to transform traditional learning into an engaging experience that combines movement, exploration and education.

Supporting Qatar National Vision 2030

School Principal Latifa Saad Al Nuaimi said the project reflects a strong belief that every student possesses unique abilities and talents that deserve support and development within an inclusive educational environment.

The initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes investment in human development and equal educational opportunities. Through projects like these, Qatar continues to strengthen inclusive education and ensure students with disabilities can actively contribute to the nation’s future development.
