HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad held talks with HE Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Dr. Rania Al Mashat, who is currently visiting the State of Qatar.

The meeting focused on reviewing the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Nations, particularly in areas related to sustainable development, humanitarian assistance, and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable communities. The discussions reflected the shared commitment of both sides to advancing development goals and strengthening collaboration on regional priorities.

Sustainable Development Remains a Key Focus

A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to cooperation in the field of sustainable development. The two officials reviewed ongoing efforts and exchanged views on strengthening joint work in development-related initiatives that contribute to long-term social and economic progress.

The discussions highlighted the importance of continued coordination between Qatar and the United Nations to support development programmes and promote cooperation that benefits communities across the region.

Support for Vulnerable Groups and Humanitarian Efforts Discussed

The meeting also covered ways to enhance support for the most vulnerable groups. Both sides reviewed cooperation in initiatives aimed at empowering those in need and improving humanitarian responses across the region.

Humanitarian efforts formed another major part of the discussions, with the officials examining opportunities to continue working together in addressing humanitarian challenges and supporting people affected by difficult circumstances.

Officials Review Topics of Mutual Interest
