Post by : Bianca Haleem

Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), has concluded the eighth and largest edition of its flagship "My Career – My Future" job-shadowing program. The initiative was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.

The closing ceremony took place at Multaqa, Education City Student Center, bringing together senior government officials, representatives of the program's national partners, career development stakeholders, participating students and their parents, as well as senior representatives from the host organizations.

Senior Officials Attend the Closing Event

The ceremony included speeches by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi and QCDC Executive Director Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji.

Among those attending the event was HE President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, along with representatives from the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and several other government entities.

QCDC Highlights Record Participation

Speaking at the ceremony, Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC, said the latest edition achieved the largest participation in the program's history.

He stated that the program has created a strong model of cooperation between government institutions, educational organizations, and industry partners to provide young people with earlier and more meaningful exposure to the workplace.

Al-Kharji said this joint effort strengthens career guidance as a shared national responsibility and helps students make better decisions that will contribute to developing Qatar's future workforce.

Ministry Emphasizes Career Planning

During his address, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi reaffirmed the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's commitment to helping students make informed academic and career choices.

He explained that the "My Career – My Future" program supports this goal by connecting classroom learning with practical workplace experience. According to him, the initiative also expands students' understanding of future education opportunities and possible career paths.

Students and Host Organizations Recognized

Secondary school students who completed the program received certificates recognizing their participation in the training provided throughout the initiative.

The host organizations were also honored for the professional guidance, expertise, and support they offered to students during the job-shadowing experience.

University Fair Connects Education With Careers

Alongside the closing ceremony, QCDC organized a university fair where students explored higher education opportunities after completing their workplace experience.

The fair helped participants understand how academic programs offered by local universities are connected to the professions they experienced during the job-shadowing program, giving them a clearer view of future study and career options.
