QRCS Facilitates Urgent Relief for 20,700 Families in Beirut, Lebanon

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has initiated an urgent relief mission in Beirut, Lebanon, aimed at aiding families affected by ongoing conflicts and displacement.

This relief effort is executed in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross and the Ministry of Social Affairs in Lebanon. QRCS is actively delivering aid from its local office to reach the communities that need help the most.

A total of 20,700 individuals will benefit from this humanitarian initiative, which comprises 4,140 food parcels filled with essential goods and 3,741 hygiene kits designed to support daily personal care during this crisis.

QRCS has indicated that its project team is in constant communication with local partners to monitor the evolving situation and quickly address pressing needs.

Furthermore, it was noted that more than one million people have been displaced, prompting many families to seek refuge in public shelters or makeshift housing, where conditions remain harsh. The loss of income and restricted access to basic utilities has left many households struggling to find food and hygiene necessities.

This initiative underscores Qatar’s commitment to supporting the people of Lebanon throughout this enduring humanitarian crisis. It also emphasizes the collaboration between QRCS and the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) in delivering timely assistance, saving lives, and facilitating recovery in the most affected areas.
