Expansion of Ruhabat Fabrics at Altyn Asyr Center

Post by : Shakul

The textile industry in Turkmenistan is on an upward trajectory, with a vast array of fabrics from the Ruhabat Textile Complex now showcased at the «Altyn Asyr» marketing center in Ashgabat. This development underscores the nation’s commitment to nurturing its textile sector.

Historically a pivotal sericulture hub on the Silk Road, Turkmenistan is leveraging its rich heritage to advance modern textile manufacturing. The «Altyn Asyr» center has emerged as a prime destination for buyers in search of premium fabrics marked with the “Made in Turkmenistan” label.

The marketing center provides a wide variety of materials, such as gabardine, satin, viscose, poplin, cotton flannel, ripstop, tarpaulin, and cretonne. Most of these items are sourced from the Ruhabat Textile Complex, operational since 2010.

This complex has transformed into a comprehensive production facility, integrating spinning, weaving, and dyeing processes. It crafts blended yarns from domestic cotton along with polyester and lycra, while also accommodating bespoke orders, many of which are destined for international markets.

Recently, the product selection has broadened to encompass new fabric varieties in contemporary hues and floral designs, especially tailored for outerwear. Beyond raw materials, the complex also produces finished products including traditional headscarves, tablecloths, and prayer rugs.

The exceptional quality and distinct national character of Turkmen textiles have garnered international recognition. Certifications and increasing interest from global partners signify a strong competitive edge.

The government is actively promoting innovation in the textile field by launching online shopping options. Furthermore, the upcoming Turkmen Textile Expo in Ashgabat will highlight the industry’s advancements and future prospects, merging tradition with cutting-edge technology.
