Saudi Arabia and UN commission discuss stronger cooperation

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Fahd Al-Dosari met Rania Al-Mashat, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, at the commission’s headquarters in Beirut on Monday.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, commonly known as ESCWA. The officials also discussed several issues of mutual interest, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Meeting Highlights Saudi-UN Cooperation

The Beirut meeting brought together Saudi diplomatic representation and a senior UN regional official at a time when cooperation on economic and social development remains an important issue across Western Asia.

According to the report, Al-Dosari and Al-Mashat explored ways to further develop cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the UN commission. The statement did not provide specific details about individual projects or agreements discussed during the meeting.

Saudi Arabia Maintains Diplomatic Engagement

Saudi Arabia has maintained active diplomatic engagement with Lebanon and other countries across the region. Meetings between Saudi officials and international organizations form part of broader diplomatic efforts involving regional development, economic cooperation and issues affecting Western Asia.

The latest meeting in Beirut also highlights the role of UN regional institutions in facilitating dialogue and cooperation among countries in the region.
