1.9 Million Copies of the Holy Quran Distributed to Pilgrims

Post by : Bianca Haleem

JEDDAH — A significant initiative by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Makkah Region has commenced, focusing on the distribution of the Holy Quran to international pilgrims concluding their Hajj pilgrimage.

Currently, the distribution is taking place at the departure halls of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where departing pilgrims are gifted copies of the Holy Quran by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

This year's program allocates a remarkable total of 1.9 million copies, produced by the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah—one of the leading institutions in Quran publication globally.

To accommodate a variety of nationalities and language preferences, these copies feature translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran in over 80 languages. This initiative is designed to assist pilgrims in furthering their spiritual journey by enabling them to understand the Quran in their own languages.

According to officials, the campaign exemplifies Saudi Arabia's continuous dedication to serving pilgrims and spreading the message of Islam worldwide. Furthermore, it aligns with the Kingdom's mission to enhance religious services for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and improve their pilgrimage experience.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that distribution efforts will be ongoing 24/7 in the upcoming days. Beyond airports, the Quran copies will also be available at land border crossings and seaports throughout the Kingdom to ensure every departing pilgrim has the chance to receive this gift.

This annual initiative stands as one of Saudi Arabia's cornerstone religious outreach efforts, granting millions of pilgrims a lasting spiritual token from their journey to the sacred sites of Makkah and Madinah.
