This year, the Air Medical Evacuation Department, part of the General Directorate for Health Services under Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense, has deployed four advanced medical aircraft to support pilgrims during Hajj.
These aircraft are specifically outfitted for emergency medical care, facilitating fast patient transfers throughout the Hajj. They work in close cooperation with field hospitals, medical centers, and ambulance teams across the holy sites, guaranteeing immediate response and assistance as needed.
Additionally, the air medical evacuation fleet is engaged in patient transfer operations both within and beyond the Kingdom, enhancing the Ministry of Defense’s overarching healthcare system.
Officials emphasized that this initiative is focused on delivering high-quality medical transportation and bolstering emergency healthcare for all pilgrims throughout the Hajj period.
