Saudi Father Forgives Son’s Killer After Learning of Sick Mother

Post by : Bianca Haleem

An extraordinary story of forgiveness has emerged from the Asir region of Saudi Arabia, touching hearts across the world.

Sheikh Yahya bin Qans al-Bashri al-Qahtani made the remarkable decision to forgive the man responsible for the death of his young son, Bandar. Despite the immense personal loss, he chose not to seek blood money, compensation, or any material benefit.

According to reports, Sheikh Yahya learned that the convicted killer was the only son and sole caregiver of his elderly mother, who was seriously ill and depended entirely on him for support and care.

Moved by her situation, Sheikh Yahya personally visited the man's home and announced his decision to grant a full pardon. Upon hearing the news, the elderly mother was overcome with emotion and reportedly collapsed in tears of relief and gratitude.

The Saudi father also made it clear that he would not accept any financial compensation for his son's death. He stated that he seeks no worldly reward for his decision and hopes only for reward from Allah.
