The General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions at Bahrain's Ministry of Interior welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange professional expertise.
The visiting delegation was received by Major General Nasser Mohammed Essa Al Sayed, Director of the General Directorate of Penal and Correctional Institutions, along with several officers from the directorate.
During the visit, the Saudi delegation was introduced to the General Directorate's main programmes and initiatives. Officials provided an overview of the work carried out by the directorate and highlighted its correctional and rehabilitation efforts.
The delegation also toured a number of departments and units to gain a better understanding of the operational procedures, institutional mechanisms, and services provided to inmates.

The visit created an opportunity for both sides to exchange expertise and discuss best practices in the field of penal and correctional institutions. The discussions also covered the application of modern correctional philosophy and approaches aimed at improving institutional operations.
The visit reflects continued cooperation between the two ministries in sharing knowledge and enhancing professional practices within correctional institutions.
