Scha Alyahya Celebrates Milestone in Malaysian Cinema

Post by : Shakul

Malaysian actress Scha Alyahya asserts that the local entertainment sector is entering a remarkable era, marked by significant advancements in storytelling, cinematography, and the creative audacity of its artists. She shared these insights while promoting her new film, Kata Hati, set to hit theaters nationwide on June 4.

Known to many as Sharifah Nor Azean, Scha has been a prominent figure in Malaysian entertainment since the early 2000s. Over the years, she has carved out a successful career with acclaimed films like Histeria, Papadom, and Evolusi KL Drift 2, along with television hits like Awan Dania and Prebet Jamilah.

Reflecting on the industry's evolution, Scha noted that contemporary actors are more expressive and willing to share ideas than in the past. She remarked that earlier newcomers often hesitated to challenge directors or contribute creatively during production.

The actress explained that the cultural landscape of Malaysian productions has drastically changed, permitting artists to openly discuss scenes and voice concerns about their discomfort. This transformation, she stated, is one of the most significant changes she's observed over her career.

Scha commended the swift enhancement in both technical and creative aspects of Malaysian films and series. She opined that local filmmakers are now achieving a much higher standard, especially regarding visual appeal and creative originality.

Talking about Kata Hati, directed by Nadiah Hamzah, Scha described the film as a blend of romance, comedy, and action that offers a rare flavor in local cinema. She plays the character Maya, emphasizing that the story's emotional heart revolves around family bonds and sisterhood.

One of the film's key messages, according to Scha, is the strong emotional connection between siblings, particularly the burden often shouldered by older sisters. She articulated that the film encourages audiences to appreciate their loved ones and reflects the real emotional challenges many families face.

Despite her extensive experience in the entertainment world, Scha has no intention of slowing down. She expressed her desire to continue taking on diverse roles, seeing each project as an opportunity to refine her craft and explore new characters.

In addition to Kata Hati, Scha is also set to feature in the upcoming film 5 Bomoh, directed by Syed Fariz, and continues to star in the iQIYI series Griya, which is currently available for streaming.
