SCI’s Little Hearts Initiative Provides Critical Care for Bangladeshi Kids

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has made significant strides with its “Little Hearts” initiative in Bangladesh, offering vital medical aid to children with heart ailments during a humanitarian mission led by Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi.

A specialized volunteer medical team, directed by Dr Ahmed Al Kamali, conducted 65 cardiac catheterisation procedures and evaluated nearly 160 children at the Heart Diseases Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital.

According to Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi, the “Little Hearts” initiative has been on its humanitarian quest since 2009, providing critical heart care to children whose families struggle to afford the necessary surgeries.

He indicated that this initiative is a crucial lifeline for many and embodies SCI’s unwavering pledge to deliver specialized healthcare in territories grappling with medical and financial hardships. Furthermore, he noted that the UAE’s humanitarian efforts emphasize making tangible differences in people's lives by alleviating suffering through direct aid and medical provisions.

During the visit, the SCI team also inaugurated the Dar Al Rahma Orphan Care Home in the Dubail Sadar Tangail region. This facility includes a mosque and provides residential and educational services aimed at enhancing the living conditions and welfare of orphaned children.

Moreover, the delegation distributed 100 food baskets stocked with essential items to assist families and beneficiaries in need.

This campaign underscores Sharjah Charity International's ongoing humanitarian mission to uplift vulnerable communities and bolster healthcare and social services in Bangladesh.
