Post by : Bianca Haleem

Washington, D.C., April 7:

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in partnership with the World Bank, has launched an international workshop titled “Towards the Future: AI Governance and International Cooperation.” The event is being held in Washington, D.C., from April 6 to 10, bringing together global experts, international organizations, and government representatives.

The workshop focuses on strengthening global frameworks for artificial intelligence governance. It aims to promote best practices, encourage responsible use of emerging technologies, and support the development of a secure and trustworthy digital ecosystem aligned with sustainable development goals.

Key discussions during the event include enhancing multilateral cooperation, aligning international frameworks with national policies, and addressing future challenges linked to rapid advancements in AI technologies.

On the sidelines of the workshop, SDAIA, in collaboration with the Digital Government Authority and the World Bank, is also hosting a special “Saudi Day” event. This platform highlights Saudi Arabia’s national model for adopting advanced AI technologies and showcases successful applications of data and AI across various sectors.

The event further presents the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure initiatives and their role in improving government efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of life.

This workshop builds on the strategic partnership between SDAIA and the World Bank and reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing role in shaping global dialogue on artificial intelligence. It also reinforces the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation and leadership in technology under Saudi Vision 2030.
