SEHA Partners with Germany’s Schoen Clinic to Boost Rehab Care

Post by : Bianca Haleem

SEHA, part of PureHealth, has announced a strategic partnership between SEHA Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Medical City (STMC) in Al Ain and Germany’s Schoen Clinic Group, a leading European provider of acute and post-acute rehabilitation services. The collaboration aims to enhance rehabilitation care in the UAE, strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global healthcare hub.

The partnership combines SEHA STMC’s strong local foundation with Schoen Clinic’s international expertise to transform the rehabilitation experience for patients, offering advanced care for both adults and children.

The signing ceremony took place at SEHA STMC in Al Ain, attended by senior officials from PureHealth, SEHA, and Schoen Clinic, including Saeed Jaber Mohd Al Kuwaiti, Group CEO of SEHA; Dr Sultan Mohamed Alkaram, CEO at Al Ain Region; Michael Tamegger, Executive Director of SEHA STMC Rehabilitation; and Dr Mate Ivancic, CEO of Schön Group.

Under this partnership, SEHA STMC will benefit from:

  • Visiting consultants in orthopaedics, neurology, and post-acute rehabilitation

  • Structured training and education for clinicians, both in-person and online

  • Development of a Quality Management System aligned with international standards

The collaboration’s main goal is to expand advanced rehabilitation services locally and make specialized care more accessible to patients in the UAE and Gulf region.

Saeed Jaber Mohd Al Kuwaiti, Group CEO of SEHA, said: “Our partnership with Schoen Clinic reflects SEHA’s commitment to delivering world-class rehabilitation care in the UAE. We are transforming the patient journey and establishing new standards of care for adults and children.”

Dr Mate Ivancic, CEO of Schön Group, added: “This collaboration allows us to share our expertise in neurology, orthopaedics, and post-acute care, shaping the future of rehabilitation in the Gulf region.”

This initiative aligns with PureHealth and SEHA’s vision to make Abu Dhabi a global reference point for healthcare excellence, bringing international best practices, continuous learning, and world-class patient outcomes to the UAE.
