Arrest Made in Lahore Gangrape Case Tied to Senior Politician

Post by : Shakul

Authorities in Pakistan have apprehended four suspects related to allegations of kidnapping and gangrape involving two foreign women in Lahore. Among those arrested is a relative of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, which has raised significant public interest in the case.

The accused individuals have been named as Muhammad Raza Dar, Hassan Raza, Sikandar Khan, and Sajid Ali. Following their arrests, a Lahore court has placed all four under police custody for five days as investigations continue and more evidence is gathered. An additional suspect is still on the run, with law enforcement actively searching for him.

Victims Allegedly Lured for Business Deals

Reports indicate that the foreign women, one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela, had met with Muhammad Raza Dar in Singapore in 2025 while discussing business opportunities related to cryptocurrency. They later flew to Pakistan on business visas after being invited by the primary suspect.

According to their police complaint, upon arrival in Lahore on June 29, the women were forcibly taken to a residence where they were allegedly assaulted, with ransom demands made for their release.

The Arrest of Suspects in Lahore

The suspects were arrested after police received a complaint from the victims, which detailed the incidents of kidnapping, gangrape, and ransom. Following initial investigations, four individuals were detained while efforts to locate the remaining suspect are ongoing.

Rescue of the Victims

The police sprang into action after an urgent call from Spain, made by the father of one of the alleged victims. This information was crucial in rescuing the women and arresting those involved.

Court Approves Police Custody

During court hearings, the victims identified Muhammad Raza Dar as the main perpetrator. Following a request from law enforcement, the court granted a five-day period for physical remand to facilitate further questioning and evidence collection.

Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing as police continue to conduct searches in pursuit of the absconding suspect, and additional arrests may occur based on the investigation's progress.

Status of the Investigation

Law enforcement officials have reiterated that the case remains under investigation, with judicial proceedings continuing. Further findings will be presented to the court pending the completion of questioning, forensic tests, and an ongoing search for the missing suspect.
