His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, convened a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) on Tuesday at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.
Joining him were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and SEC Vice Chairman, alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, also Deputy Ruler and SEC Vice Chairman.
Assessment of Government Operations and Environmental Initiatives
During the session, the Council focused on monitoring the operations of various government departments. Discussions included strategies to enhance environmental sustainability, improve service quality, and elevate performance metrics to meet community needs.
Advancements in Waste Management
The Council reviewed initiatives to enhance and expand Sharjah’s waste management infrastructure. This aligns with the UAE's vision for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Efforts aim to create a comprehensive and sustainable waste management system, protecting the environment, conserving resources, and enhancing quality of life while promoting sustainable development.
Municipal authorities will implement advanced technologies and international best practices in waste collection, treatment, and recycling. These measures are set to enhance operational efficiency, minimize environmental impact, and reduce reliance on conventional landfills while accommodating future urban growth.
Updates on the Aqari Real Estate Digital Platform
The Council also discussed progress on the “Aqari” platform, Sharjah’s digital system for the real estate sector designed to improve transparency and efficiency.
The initial phase is complete, featuring company and agency registration, property listings, and rental services centralized within a digital framework.
To date, the platform has facilitated over 112,000 transactions, listed 95,000 properties, and registered nearly 5,000 companies and agencies. The transaction processing time has been cut by 90%, with all services now fully digital, allowing users to handle requests online.
The Council commended the Aqari team’s efforts and reinforced its commitment to enhancing digital services in line with top government practices.
