Sharjah Approves 3,000 Government Jobs for Citizens in 2026

Post by : Bianca Haleem

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the 2026 employment plan, offering 3,000 job opportunities for Sharjah citizens across government entities in the emirate.

The plan includes the appointment of 650 new employees by June 18, 2026. It also covers 200 vacancies where appointment procedures have already been completed, along with 650 additional positions that will be filled by July 31, 2026.

As part of the plan, 1,500 more government job opportunities will be created between August and the end of December 2026, bringing the total number of available jobs for Sharjah citizens to 3,000 during the year.

Sheikh Dr Sultan also approved the promotion of 1,864 employees working in government departments. The promotions will have an annual financial impact of AED 45.5 million.

In addition, the status of 125 employees who have achieved higher academic qualifications will be adjusted, with an annual cost of up to AED 5 million.

The Sharjah Program for Qualifying and Training Job Seekers was also approved, targeting 410 citizens from July to December 2026. The programme will provide total rewards worth AED 14.76 million.

The announcement was made by Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, during his appearance on the “Direct Line” programme broadcast by Sharjah Radio and Television.
