Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, held an important meeting on Wednesday at the Holy Quran Academy.

During the meeting, His Highness praised the efforts of the Judicial Council members for their commitment to reinforcing the judicial framework and maintaining the rule of law. He emphasized their critical role in fostering a just and transparent legal landscape that safeguards rights and encourages societal stability.

Enhancing Judicial Performance and Clarity

The Council took a close look at essential strategies aimed at bolstering judicial effectiveness and boosting court efficiency. Conversations revolved around speeding up case resolution, optimizing litigation protocols, and attaining greater accuracy and transparency in legal proceedings.

New Regulations Endorsed

A key moment in the meeting was the endorsement of an extensive set of regulatory bylaws designed to modernize judicial operations and align them with international best practices. These encompass:

  • Judicial Inspection Regulation

  • Code of Judicial Conduct

  • Family Guidance Regulation

  • Visitation Rights Regulation for Custodial Children

  • Professional Conduct for Family Counselors

  • Regulation for Marriage Officials

These frameworks are set to reinforce governance, accountability, and integrity within the judicial sector.

Introduction of Specialized Prosecution Departments

  • Public Funds Prosecution

  • Economic Crimes and Money Laundering Prosecution

  • Narcotics Prosecution

  • Family and Child Prosecution

  • Traffic Prosecution

  • Information Technology Prosecution

This initiative aims to enhance case management, elevate expertise, and expedite justice delivery in response to changing legal demands.

Empowerment of Women in the Judiciary

An annual forum for female judges was also sanctioned by the Council, scheduled for March 10 to coincide with the International Day of Women Judges. The initiative strives to empower women in law and provide a platform for skill development and knowledge sharing.

Tour of the Quranic Heritage Museum

Following the meeting, His Highness toured the Museum of Celebrated Reciters at the Holy Quran Academy. The museum honors the legacies of esteemed Quran reciters from the Arab region.

Notable figures on display include Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Ali Abdullah Jaber, and Bakri Al-Tarabishi.

His Highness explored unique collections, encompassing historical recordings, manuscripts, photographs, and personal artifacts that highlight the rich traditions of Quranic recitation.

State-of-the-Art Production Facilities

The visit included a walkthrough of the academy’s advanced studios equipped with modern technology for Quranic, television, and radio productions. Officials updated His Highness on the production processes and showcased several Quran recordings developed to meet global standards.
