Sharjah Ramadan Majlis Highlights Travel as Personal Discovery

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Sharjah, UAE: The 15th edition of the Ramadan Majlis, organised by the Sharjah Press Club (SPC) under the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), concluded on Thursday at Aljada with a session on travel as a journey of personal discovery.

The final session highlighted how travel not only offers leisure but also broadens perspectives, fosters cultural understanding, and encourages personal growth.

The discussion featured travel content creators Farrah Al Ayedi and Abdulaziz Bin Huwaiden, moderated by media professional Yousif Al Hammadi from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA). Speakers shared insights on how travel experiences shape awareness and deepen understanding of different cultures.

Bin Huwaiden emphasised the responsibility of travel creators to provide cultural insights, not just document destinations. Reflecting on his trips to Latin America, he noted that engaging with local communities offered new perspectives and enriched his understanding of diverse cultures. He advised travellers to “travel smart,” plan carefully, and treat each trip as an opportunity to expand their thinking.

Al Ayedi highlighted the importance of preparation, particularly for women travellers, to ensure safety and a rewarding experience. She encouraged researching destinations, reading reviews, and planning ahead to navigate challenges confidently while still enjoying the journey’s spontaneity.

The session also featured interactive activities, audience Q&A, and competitions, with prizes sponsored by Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA).

Over its 15th edition, the Ramadan Majlis explored topics ranging from human development and health to cultural awareness and travel, continuing to serve as a leading platform for sharing ideas, experiences, and human-focused discussions in Sharjah.
