His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, officiated the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Sharjah (UOS) and the Tamayuz Institutional Excellence Award. This initiative aims to establish a knowledge empowerment programme dedicated to fostering institutional excellence.
Prioritizing Quality and Competitive Edge
During the signing ceremony, His Highness underscored the vital role of the Tamayuz Award in promoting institutional performance and cultivating a quality-centric environment. He remarked that insights from previous brainstorming sessions are being put into action to enhance the framework of the award.
He further stated that while excellence is found in all institutions, awards like Tamayuz are crucial for recognizing top performers and nurturing a competitive atmosphere that drives ongoing improvement. Participating organisations were urged to utilize feedback from past award cycles and consider nominating staff for specialized training initiatives.
Emphasis on Human Capital Development
The MoU was signed by Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Tamayuz Award, and Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, witnessed by senior officials.
The agreement aims to develop human capital through training programs in excellence frameworks. Key initiatives include:
Institutional Excellence Diploma for organizational teams
Job Excellence Programme for individual professionals
These initiatives aim to provide participants with the necessary skills to develop and present excellence portfolios in line with recognized evaluation standards.
Creating a Sustainable Excellence Framework
This partnership outlines a versatile framework for future collaborations and program expansions. It signifies a strategic move toward embedding excellence as a lasting aspect of organizational culture, rather than a temporary objective.
Officials stated that this collaboration bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application, allowing institutions to adopt structured approaches and achieve sustainable performance outcomes.
Leadership Emphasizes Impact and Vision
Hassan Al Mansouri praised the ongoing support from the award’s leadership, noting that it inspires institutions to aspire for elevated performance levels, enhancing collaboration across sectors.
Professor Esameldin Agamy pointed out that this partnership will allow organizations to transform concepts of excellence into practical actions, improving teamwork and institutional skills. He further highlighted the award’s varied categories as an essential factor fostering innovation and healthy competition.
Mona Al Ghawi, General Coordinator of the Tamayuz Award, stressed that this initiative transcends mere training, acting as a platform for developing knowledge-driven institutions that can adapt to change and sustain growth.
Training Programmes with Tangible Outcomes
Dr Asmaa Nusairi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development, elaborated on the training programme structure.
The Job Excellence Programme spans 40 training hours aimed at empowering employees to translate personal achievements into quantifiable institutional impacts, featuring practical workshops and evaluation simulations, along with the preparation of comprehensive nomination files.
Meanwhile, the Institutional Excellence Professional Diploma provides 120 hours of training tailored for excellence teams and organizational leaders, encompassing all major award categories and involving real-world projects to ensure immediate workplace impacts.
Advancing a Culture of Continuous Improvement
This MoU represents a crucial step in Sharjah’s commitment to promoting institutional excellence. By focusing on training, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships, the initiative strives to cultivate agile, future-ready organizations capable of ongoing success.
