Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Honours Graduates at UoS 2026 Ceremony

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, presided over the graduation ceremony for the spring semester of 2026 held at University City Hall.

The event celebrated the achievements of 426 postgraduate students who earned degrees across various disciplines, including Sharia and Islamic Studies, Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, Engineering, Health Sciences, Law, Communication, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, Computing, and Public Policy.

In his speech, Sheikh Sultan commended the graduates for their diligence and academic success. He remarked that higher education credentials serve not merely as formal recognition but as vital instruments for informed decision-making, practical problem-solving, and steering national progress.

He emphasized the necessity of integrating knowledge with practical application, asserting that education gains significance when utilized within professional contexts to benefit society and the nation’s progress.

The President of the University of Sharjah underlined the institution's esteemed academic standing, noting its continuous ascent in international rankings and its appeal to prospective students, with an enrollment of 21,183 including 5,800 new students this year.

He also spoke of the university's robust academic framework, showcasing 158 study programs, a culturally rich community comprising 111 nationalities, and a dedicated emphasis on research, innovation, and leadership training.

Sheikh Sultan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the parents and families, recognizing their sacrifices and unwavering support as the cornerstone of every graduate's success.

Moreover, he acknowledged the university's faculty and staff for their commitment to guiding students throughout their educational journeys.

In closing, he urged the graduates to engage proactively in their communities, asserting that genuine success stems not only from knowledge but also from service, dedication, and meaningful impact.

The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem, accompanied by a reading from the Quran. There were speeches from Professor Dr. Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and a representative of the graduates, Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

Numerous dignitaries, members of the university's board, and families of the graduates graced the occasion, marking a day of pride for both students and the academic community.
