Sheikha Fatima Reviews FDF Initiatives for Senior Citizens

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, also known as the Mother of the Nation, visited the Family Development Foundation (FDF) to review its services and achievements in supporting senior citizens.

During the visit, Her Highness examined key programs and initiatives, including Barakatna and Safe Home, praising their important role in assisting senior citizens. She also directed the launch of new community initiatives for the UAE Year of Family, such as Hekma wa Sanad (Wisdom and Support), Barakatna Podcast (Our Blessing Podcast), Fi Osratina Baraka (Blessing in Our Family), and Madi Ahlihna (Our Ancestors' Past).

Her Highness reviewed FDF’s institutional transformation project, aimed at improving efficiency and operational agility. She stressed the importance of collaborating with government health entities and enhancing healthcare services for senior citizens according to international best practices.

Sheikha Fatima also appreciated the foundation’s strategy, which focuses on three main areas: enhancing senior citizens’ quality of life, strengthening family resilience, and promoting institutional excellence.

The visit highlights the UAE’s continued commitment to family and senior citizen welfare and the role of FDF in creating supportive and sustainable community programs.
