Seven Young Girls Detained Following Assault on Teen at Singapore Mall

Post by : Shakul

A shocking incident involving youth violence has captured the attention of Singapore after the arrest of seven girls for purportedly assaulting a 14-year-old in a mall's car park on Orchard Road. This troubling event occurred late on May 3 and has raised alarms regarding the safety of teenagers and the issue of collective violence.

Reports indicate that the victim was allegedly tricked into the car park on the 11th floor before being confronted by several girls. The victim's mother expressed that four of the assailants were acquaintances of her daughter, and others were present during the incident.

The supposed assault is said to have persisted for around 40 minutes, trapping the teenager and making it nearly impossible for her to escape or seek help due to the group present.

After the ordeal, the injured girl managed to reach The Centrepoint shopping complex before proceeding to her grandmother's home. She later contacted her mother to inform her of the event, prompting emergency services to be alerted.

According to the Singapore Police, they received a call for help at approximately 11:25 p.m. that night. The victim was transported to the hospital while conscious, where she remained for nine days to receive ongoing treatment.

Subsequently, seven girls aged between 12 and 17 were detained as part of the investigation into the case. They are being examined for potential rioting charges as police work to gather evidence and interview witnesses to better understand the event's context.

The victim’s family has indicated that the teen experienced both physical injuries and emotional repercussions from the alleged assault. This incident has sparked renewed discussions on youth violence, online conflicts, and the necessity of intervention programs to prevent similar occurrences among young individuals.
